Happy New Year!

OPEN GYMS - 1ST WEEK-END COMING UP!===================================================================================
It feels like the Fall season just ended, but here we are just 1 week away from gearing up for 2017.  Below is the schedule for the 1st Open Gym Weekend of the year.
Fri 1/66:30-8:30pm8UBoro Gym
Sat 1/79:00-10:00amSpeed/Agility (Coaches Only)MS Gym (7/8)
Sat 1/710:00-11:00am10U/12UMS Gym (7/8)
Sat 1/711:00am-NoonPitching/Catching (10U & up)MS Gym (7/8)
I have arranged for Tony Sabanos of Xcellerated Speed Training coming to meet with our coaches about proper Nutrition, Mechanics, Speed and Agility for our athletes.  I reached out to him as part of our plan to add "Special Sessions" to our Open Gyms.  He suggested meeting with our coaches first to lay a foundation.  If we're interested (and if we can afford the cost) we may add future sessions with the girls.
As most of you know, I work for Met-Ed.  Met-Ed has a corporate box at the Sovereign Center for all events including all of the Reading Royals games.  I was able to get the entire box (14 seats) for Sun 2/12 to use as a fundraiser for FGSA.
Sun 2/12 is a 7:00pm game vs. the Norfolk Admirals.  (It looks like this was originally a 5pm that got moved to 7pm for some reason.  I mention that only in case someone has a Royals schedule for the start of the year that it probably says 5pm.)
We're going to sell these tickets for $20 each.  MET-ED IS GIVING ME THESE TICKETS FOR FREE, SO 100% OF WHAT WE BRING IN WILL GO BACK TO FGSA.  That's an easy $280.
Because there are only 14 tickets, I opened it up to 14U/18U only.
I sold 13 of 14 tickets within about 2 hours.  So there is ONE ticket left.  If any of our 14U/18U girls would like to tag along, they are welcome to come with me and Jolie to the game.
The open gyms on 1/6 and 1/7 will be your first opportunity to hand in your daughter's registration face-to-face.  Remember that if you register and pay by February 5th you get a $15 discount!  NO EXCEPTIONS!  Attached is the 2017 registration form.

Sometimes a pitcher’s “out pitch” is their ability to throw every pitch in every count – every pitcher won’t have 1 outstanding pitch, and that’s ok. But look out for pitchers who have the ability to throw all of their pitches in all of their counts. Allow for pitchers to be unique and use that uniqueness to their advantage.
